Fiji Cancels Constitution Day Public Holiday

It was announced that the recently elected SDL government, of Laisenia Qarase has decided to repeal the annual, July 27, Constitution Day public holiday.

Constitution Day was an official public holiday in Fiji since 1990 until this year, though the 1990 constitution was replaced in 1997.
