The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has released its official list of non-working public holidays to be observed in Hong Kong for the upcoming calendar year 2002.
As per the aforementioned announcement, days in lieu are re-stipulated "As the Buddha's Birthday in 2002 falls on a Sunday, the day following will be designated as an additional general holiday. Also, as the day following Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival falls on a Sunday, the day of the festival will be designated as an additional holiday", as was the case on past occasions (2000-05-05 and 1999-05-07).
