The St Vincent and the Grenadines Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2001 got its second and third readings in the St Vincent and the Grenadines legislature and was passed.

At the beginning of this year (2001-01-11), the "Act to amend the Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2001 (Cap.206)", was introduced and had its first reading in the St Vincent and the Grenadines legislative assembly, purporting, as per the text of the bill in the Hansard, "This Bill seeks to amend the Public Holiday's Act (Cap.206) by providing for National Heroes Day celebrated annually on the Second Monday in March instead of the 22nd day of January and abolishing Discovery Day as a Public Holiday.".

However, last month (2001-10-17), a different and expanded version of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2001 got its first reading with 3 changes to the annual official non-working public holidays in St Vincent and the Grenadines, instead of just one.
