Chhattisgarh To Observe Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti Public Holiday Annually

The Chief Minister of India’s state of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, has announced that Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti would henceforth be observed as a public holiday in the state (it had previously been included as an optional holiday only).
The announcement was made during the Agr Mahakumbh 2026 gathering in Ambikapur.
In 2026, Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti falls on Sunday, October 11.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted a revised proposal to the Government under which the inaugural Vietnam Culture Day public holiday would be observed solely on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, without an accompanying workday exchange.
The ministry had previously recommended making Monday, November 23, a day off and transferring that working day to Saturday, November 28, thereby creating a four-day break for civil servants and public employees. Following further consultations, it now favors retaining November 23 as a normal working day, while employees would continue to receive a fully paid public holiday on November 24.
The ministry cited the need to avoid disrupting government programs, production schedules and year-end business targets.

However, the official announcement reproduced by the Fiji Government’s Facebook account is full of errors, listing Fiji Day on Tuesday, October 10 (October 10, 2027, is a Sunday),

Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has signed the Memorandum Circular No.136 ordering the suspension of work in government offices starting at 1 p.m. on September 28 (Monday) to give government employees and their families an opportunity to observe the 34th National Family Week.
The aforementioned was issued pursuant to Proclamation No. 60, series of 1992, which declared the last week of September of every year as Family Week, and Proclamation No. 326, series of 2012, which declared the fourth Monday of September of every year as “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day, and the decision applies to all government agencies and instrumentalities under the Executive branch, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs).
Malacañang encouraged the other branches of government, independent commissions and bodies, as well as the private sector, to suspend work to give Filipino families the opportunity to participate in the celebration.

Under the resolution, Saturday, January 2, will be transferred to Friday, November 5; Sunday, January 3, to Friday, December 31; and Saturday, February 20, to Monday, February 22. These are adjustments to Russia’s work-and-rest calendar rather than newly created public holidays.
The resulting schedule includes a New Year break from December 31, 2026, through January 10, 2027, as well as extended weekends around Defender of the Fatherland Day, International Women’s Day, the May holidays, Russia Day and National Unity Day.
