Philippines Final Approval For New Ninoy Aquino Public Holiday

The Philippines Senate and House of Representatives, assembled in Congress, have passed Republic Act 9256, declaring August 21 of every year as Ninoy Aquino Day, to be observed as a special non-working public holiday.

This Act which is a consolidation of Senate bill No. 2636 (2003-11-19) and House Bill No. 6240 (2004-01-26), were passed by the Senate and by the House of Representatives on November 19, 2003 and January 26, 2004, respectively.
