Romania's Senate has approved modifications to Article 134-1 of the Labour Code 53/2003, which would make Pentecost Sunday and Pentecost Monday (sarbatoare a Rusaliilor) additional official public holidays in Romania.

The amendment, passed by a vote of 82 to 30 (and no abstentions) must now be sent to the lower house, which has the final say in decisions involving Romanian official public holidays.
