Guyana Celebrates 1st Arrival Day Public Holiday

Guyana President, Bharrat Jagdeo, will be at the Monument Site, Plantation Highbury, East Bank Berbice, to mark the 166th anniversary of East Indian arrival in Guyana. May 5th will have been an official public holidays for the first time this year.

Indian Arrival Day was made into an official public holiday last year (2004-04-29).
