Oman Announces Duration Of Eid al-Adha Public Holiday

Eid Al Adha holidays: At the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state administrative apparatus, the Eid Al Adha Al Mubarak holidays will be from Saturday, December 30 until the end of Wednesday, January 3, 2007.

Since weekends in Oman are still Thursdays and Fridays, work will resume on Saturday January 6, 2007 (statement issued by Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and chairman of the Civil Service Council).

Private sector companies and establishments will remain closed from Saturday, December 30 to the end of Tuesday, January 2, and will resume work on Wednesday, January 3 (decision issued by Dr Juma bin Ali bin Juma, minister of manpower).
