Pakistan Announces 2007 School Holidays

Education Minister, Hameeda Khuhro, announced the school holidays and examination schedule for educational institutions, for 2007.

Examinations up to class eight will be held in February, while the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or Matriculation examinations and Technical School Certificate exams will begin on March 1 and practical examinations of the SSC and technical schools will be held on April 30. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Intermediate examinations will begin from April 20 while practicals will be held on May 20. HSC results will be announced on August 16.

Summer vacations will begin from June 1 till August 15 in all government and private education institutions and winter vacations will begin from December 22 and end on January 6, 2008.

Other educational institutions holidays announced for 2007 included two days for Eidul Azha, February 5 for Kashmir Day, 9-10 for Moharram, March 23 for Pakistan Day, one day for Eid Milladul Nabi, May 1 for Labour Day, August 14 for Independence Day, one day for Shab-e-Miraj (27th Rajab), one day for Shab-e-Barat (15th Sha'aban), one day for Youm-e-Ali (21st Ramadan), one day for Shab-e-Qadr (27th Ramadan), two days for Eidul Fitr, November 9 for Iqbal Day and two days for Eidul Azha.
