Ukraine Declares January 1-7 Public Holidays

The Cabinet of Ministers announced that January 1-7, 2008, would be days off work in the Ukraine, and that in exchange, three Saturdays would be made into regular working days; January 12, January 26, and February 9.

This is essentially the same mechanism as was put in place at the end of 2005 (2005-12-23).
