Nicaragua's Ministry of Labor (MITRAB) has announced that the public sector would be on public holidays from Wednesday, December 24, 2008, until Sunday, January 4, 2009, inclusively.

The details of this announcement are contained in the Acuerdo Ministerial JCHG-018-12-08 which is based on Article 76 of Nicaragua's Labor Code.

This quasi annual announcement (2007-12-03 and 2006-12-14) follows similar practices elsewhere in Central America (2008-11-28).
