Azerbaijan Announces Late December Electoral Public Holiday

Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission Spokesperson, Azer Sariyev, has announced that the upcoming Municipal elections, and related public holiday, will be held in the second half of December, after December 17-18.

The Labor Code was recently amended to make the date of any election a non-working public holidays throughout Azerbaijan. Previously, only the dates of Presidential elections are declared public holidays (2009-02-05).
