Azerbaijan Confirms December 23 Electoral Public Holiday

Azerbaijani Central Elections Commission Spokesman, Azar Sariyev, has confirmed that the date of the upcoming municipal elections, December 23, 2009, will be a one-off, non-working, electoral public holiday in Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani Central Elections Commission had made an initial announcement (2009-10-06) in October, setting the date of the upcoming municipal elections for the second half of December 2009, and the exact date was announced at the end of last month (2009-11-30).
