Kazakhstan Confirms October 25 Public Holiday Cancellation

The press services of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Justice has issued a communique confirming the cancellation, effective this year, of the October 25, Day of the Republic, annual non-working public holiday.

The cancellation of the October 25 annual non-working public holiday was a consequence of the recently promulgated amendments to Kazakhstan's Law on Holidays (On The Introduction Of Amendments To The Law On Holidays Of The Republic Of Kazakhstan), voted last March Kazakhstan's Parliament, the Majilis (2009-03-04) and then signed into law by Kazakhstan's President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the following month (2009-04-25).
