Montserrat Declares September 9 Post-Election Public Holiday

The leader of Montserrat's Movement for Change and Prosperity (MCAP) party, Reuben Meade, has declared a one-off public holiday following his party's victory in the same day's elections.

In the Caribbean, the day after an election, is often declared a one-off public holiday (2009-03-13, 2005-02-22, 2003-05-21, 2003-10-21, 2003-11-27, and 1997-05-23).
