Morocco's Ministry of Religious Affairs (the ministère des Habous et des Affaires islamiques) has announced that, since the new Moon's crescent had not been sighted on Wednesday, February 25 (29 Safar 1430 H), the month of Rabi I would start on Friday, February 27, meaning that the upcoming Prophet's Birthday Public Holiday would be moved to Tuesday, March 10, 2009.

Morocco has changed the date of the first day of the 2-day Prophet's Birthday public holiday a few times in past years (2007-03-28).
