Palau Confirms October 2 Public Holiday

Palau President, Johnson Toribiong, has released Presidential Proclamation No. 09-09, confirming Friday, October 2nd, 2009, as the date when the national government will celebrate United Nations Day in 2009.

As we announced earlier this month (2009-09-10), moving the upcoming United Nations' Day national public holiday from its usual date of October 24 to Friday, October 2, 2009, combined with the October 1st, Independence Day, public holiday, will give 4 consecutive days of public holidays to Palau.

It will also allow more people to attend the Olchotel Belau Fair which was declared in another Presidential Proclamation as being on October 1 and 2, 2009.
