Samoa's General Manager of the new Land and Transport Authority (LTA), Leasi John Galuvao, has confirmed that, despite recent opposition, the change in driving side of the road will occur on September 7, 2009, and that this day, and the next, would be official public holidays in Samoa.

This 2-day public holiday had been tentatively announced, last summer (2008-07-24), when the date of the switch was first announced.
