Bangladesh's Prime Ministerial Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad, has announced that the list of official public holidays for the calendar year 2011 had been approved at today's weekly Cabinet meeting.
The aforementioned announcement is contained in Government Notification No. 05.173.008.09.00.001.2010-437. Hopefully, the 2011 date of the Janmashtami public holiday will not suffer as many changes as it did for 2010.
Recall that the 2010 Janmashtami public holiday was originally announced (2009-11-23) by the government of Bangladesh as August 15, and this was then changed (2010-05-25) to September 2, before finally being changed (2010-08-24) to September 1, at the request of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad (2010-08-07).
