Earlier tonight, the government of Cameroon announced that Cameroon's Commission du Croissant Lunaire had confirmed that the new Moon of Shawwal had been sighted and thus that the date of the upcoming Aïd El Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday, would be Friday, September 10, 2011.

Note that, contrary to what happened last year (2009-12-10), the government of Cameroon did not extend the annual End of Ramadan public holiday for a second day.
