Earlier this week, the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) had announced that the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal in the Islamic Year 1431 A.H. would begin on February 16, 2010.

As is usually the case (2009-03-01, 2007-03-22, 2006-04-01 and 2005-04-12) the date announced in Guyana for the birth anniversary of the Prophet public holiday, is one day later than in the Middle East.
