The Isle of Man Council of Ministers has agreed to declare an extra bank holiday (aka. public holiday) in 2012, after Tynwald Day, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

This additional day off, will take place on Friday, July 6, 2012, following the annual Tynwald Day public holiday on Thursday, July 5, 2012, thus creating a 4-day weekend.

At the end of last year (2009-12-27), the UK Parliament also approved a bill creating an additional one-off public holiday to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, in 2012, though on a totally different date.
