The States of Jersey (Jersey's elected assembly) has passed the Public Holidays and Bank Holidays (Jersey) Act 2010 which revokes the current Public Holidays and Bank Holidays (Jersey) Act 1952.

The Public Holidays and Bank Holidays (Jersey) Act 2010 declares Monday, June 4, 2012, as a public holiday instead of the last Monday in May, and Tuesday, June 5, 2012, as a public holiday to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Late last year (2009-12-27), the UK Parliament approved a bill creating an additional one-off public holiday to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, in 2012.

The Isle of Man has also declared an additional one-off public holiday to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (2010-09-10), but that additional day off, will take place in July 2012 rather than in June 2012.

The Act also provides more certainty when public holidays fall on a weekend.
