Nepal's Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has announced that he was considering declaring Monday, November 8, 2010, as a one-off non-working public holiday on the occasion of the upcoming Nepal Sambat festival.

The announcement was made after a team of Newa Dya Dabu representatives met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The same demand was made of the Prime Minister last year (10-Oct-2009), after the previous Maoist government had declared Nepal Sambat new Year, on Kartik 2, as a one-off public holiday (28-Oct-2008).
