The Chairman of Pakistan's Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, has announced that the Moon of Muharram-ul- Haram was not sighted in the country last night, which means that the first of Muharram will fall on December 8.

The aforementioned announcement means that the upcoming Youm- e-Ashoor public holiday will be observed on December 17, as was tentatively announced at the end of last year (24-Dec-2009).
