Papua New Guinea 2011 Public Holidays Announced

The Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has released the gazetted official public holidays for 2011.

The aforementioned announcement of official Papua New Guinea public holidays for the calendar year 2011 confirms the date of the 2011 Queen's Birthday public holiday, and as usual (2009-10-08, 2006-10-13, 2003-07-07 and 2000-08-15) announces day in lieu public holidays, if applicable.

For the 5th consecutive year (2009-10-08, 2008-10-17, 2007-07-09, 2006-10-13 and 2005-10-01), the Remembrance Day public holiday is listed on July 23. It was moved from July 23 to April 25, 6 years ago (2004-09-20), in a move that was meant to be permanent, but which was not well received.
