This decree, which applies to "la administración pública y las entidades descentralizadas", follows similar half-day public sector holidays declared on various occasions, in the past (2009-12-07, 2009-09-09 and 2009-04-06), and precedes tomorrow's annual nationwide public holiday for the Virgen de Caacupé.

As an aside, Nicaragua's Ministerio del Trabajo (Mitrab) declared a general public holiday for the afternoon of Tuesday, December 7, 2010, earlier this month (2010-12-01 and 2010-12-06).
