Peru Declares May 21 Regional Public Holiday

The regional government of Peru's northern department of Piura has declared Friday, May 21, 2010, as a one-off public holiday on account of the signing of the contract for the local hydroelectric works known as the Proyecto Especial de Irrigación e Hidroenergético del Alto Piura (Pehiap).

The aforementioned declaration is contained in the Ordenanza Regional 186-2010/GRP-CR published in Peru's official gazette, the Diario Oficial El Peruano.
