The leader of Peru's Iglesia Alianza Cristiana y Misionera, Reverend Miguel Bardales, has announced that Peru's President, García Pérez, has promised that he would soon sign a decree making July 30 an annual holiday for thanksgiving (Acción de Gracias).
It is not yet clear if this will be made into a non-working public holiday as was done in neighboring Chile (2008-10-11).
