Puerto Rico's legislation governing annual non-working public sector holidays has been amended.

The aforementioned Ley Núm. 182 de 1 de diciembre de 2010 gives the Governor of Puerto Rico the power to move any annual non-working public sector holiday to a nearby Monday or Friday, to avoid mid-week closings (facultar al Gobernador de Puerto Rico a establecer que cualquier día feriado se pueda observar el lunes o viernes más cercano con el fin de mantener la operación continua del Gobierno).
