Seychelles Approves March 8 Public Holiday Bill

The Seychelles National Assembly has approved a bill to declare International Women's Day, as an annual public holiday to be observed on March 8.

The aforementioned bill was tabled by elected member for Baie Ste Anne Praslin Mitcy Larue, following last month's recommendation by the Seychelles' ruling party, the Parti Lepep, which, during its recent first general conference (2010-03-23), had asked the government of the Seychelles to declare March 8th as a new annual public holiday.
