Swaziland's Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mduduzi Magongo, has finally announced that the upcoming Incwala public holiday would be Friday, December 24, 2010.

The aforementioned announcement confirms the date we forecast in early January (2010-01-02). Note that, due to the complex nature of the rule used to specify the date of the Incwala main day, and its related public holiday, the Incwala public holiday will have occurred twice this year, as was the case three years ago (2007-12-26, and 2007-01-04).

Secretary Magongo went on to say that in a gazette soon to be released by the Attorney General, Majahenkhaba Dlamini, an extra public holiday had been declared on Monday, December 27, 2010, to compensate the fact that the 2010 Boxing Day holiday falls on a Sunday.
