Argentina Senate Approves February 27 Public Holiday

The Senate of Argentina has approved a bill which would declare February 27, 2012, as a one-off nationwide public holiday to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Creation and First Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of Argentina.
Last year (2010-05-04), Argentina's President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, signed an executive decree making Monday, May 24, 2010, a one-off (por única vez) non-working public holiday to coincide with Argentina's bicentennial.
