The Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow, has announced that Monday, September 26, 2011, would be a one-off public holiday to coincide with the upcoming funeral of George Cadle Price, Belize's first Prime Minister after independence.

The aforementioned announcement was made at Prime Minister Dean Barrow's Independence Day Address, earlier today.

Note that we are still waiting for the official announcement of the list of official public holidays in Belize for the calendar year 2012. Such announcements are usually late in the year (2010-12-06 and 2009-10-09).
