Brunei Darussalam 2012 Public Holidays Announced

The Information Department of Brunei Darussalam's Prime Minister's Office has released a list of official bank holidays and public holidays in Brunei Darussalam during the calendar year 2012.

As usual (2010-08-25), the aforementioned list leaves the dates of the various Muslim public holidays (Prophet Muhammad's Birthday, 1st Day of Ramadhan, Nuzul Al-Quraan, Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Hari Raya Aidil Adha, and 1st Day of Muharram) as "Subject to changes".

Part of the reason for the aforementioned caveat is that the dates used as initial estimates are based on the Saudi Calendar, and not the official MABIMS calendar used to calculate the Muslim public holidays in Brunei Darussalam. In the past (2010-11-11) this has led to last minute revisions of the dates previously announced for Muslim public holidays.
