Cameroon Extends 2011 End of Ramadan Public Holidays

The President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, has declared tomorrow, Monday, August 29, 2011, as a one-off bridge public holiday to link the weekend to the upcoming Djouldé Soumaé (End of Ramadan) annual public holiday.
The aforementioned declaration of a one-off bridge public holiday was made tonight, shortly after it was announced by Cameroon's Commission du Croissant Lunaire that the new Moon of Shawwal had not been sighted and therefore that the Djouldé Soumaé (End of Ramadan) public holiday would be on Tuesday, August 30, 2011.
The extension of the annual End of Ramadan public holiday in Cameroon to a second day has happened in the past (2009-09-16), though not systematically (2010-09-09).
