The government of Chad has announced that Monday, August 8, 2011, would be a one-off non-working public holiday in Chad on account of that day's presidential inauguration.
The aforementioned announcement is contained in the Décret 11-857 2011-08-06 PR/PM/MFPT/11 ("Décret déclarant la journée du lundi 08 Août 2011, fériée, chômée et payée sur l'ensemble du territoire national").
Chad does, on occasion, declare one-off non-working public holidays (2011-05-04 and 2009-12-31), but not as frequently as other neighboring countries.
