    South Sudan's Labour Minister, Anthony Lino Makana, has welcomed the bill but urged lawmakers not to rush its passage, stating that "This is something I want the August House to take notice of so that we do not pass something and then tomorrow there are complaints".

    As per the aforementioned statement, "in celebration of this occasion, all ministries, government authorities, and public institutions in the Kingdom will be closed on Tuesday, 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to 25 August 2026".

    Note that the bill is a temporary one-year measure, with the amending Act repealing itself on its first anniversary.
