The aforementioned announcement comes shortly after the announcement by Guyana's Central Islamic Organisation (CIOG.) that the Muslim month of Rabiul-Awal had begun.

Often (2010-02-18, 2009-03-01, 2007-03-22, 2006-04-01 and 2005-04-12), the date announced in Guyana for the birth anniversary of the Prophet public holiday, is one day later than in the Middle East.
