Ivory Coast Declares Prophet's Birthday Public Holiday

The minister of labour of the Ivory Coast government of Laurent Gbagbo has announced that tomorrow, Tuesday, February 15, 2011, would be a nationwide public holiday (journée fériée, chômée, payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire ivoirien).
Interestingly, the aforementioned announcement specifies that the public holiday of Tuesday, February 15, 2011, is not on the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday, but rather on the occasion of the day after the Prophet's Birthday, as is customary as per the "décret n° 96-205 du 7 mars 1996, déterminant la liste et le régime des jours fériés" (1996-05-09).
