The Nepalese government has declared tomorrow, Sunday, March 20, 2011, as a regional public holiday in the Terai region of Nepal.
Note that in the Kathmandu Valley, the public holiday which is observed annually is the day before Holi, the Holika Dahan.
Holi is on the list of public holidays that the Administration Restructuring Commission (ARC) of the Government of Nepal had suggested keeping when asked to reduce the number of public holidays enjoyed by civil servants (2009-07-25). The other public holidays were: Nepali New Year, Dashain, Deepawali, Buddha Purnima, Republic Day, and Maha Nawami.
