Pakistan's Ruet-e-Hilal committee has announced that the Zul-Hijjah Moon had been sighted last night and that, as such, the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha would be celebrated on Monday, November 7, 2011 in Pakistan.

The aforementioned announcement's date for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha is in line with what was announced when Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, issued the expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2011 (2011-01-03).

The remaining question is the duration of these upcoming Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holidays, which are often extended or reduced in duration at the last minute to 4 days (2009-11-20 and 2008-12-31), 3 days (2010-11-08) and 2 days (2006-12-16).
