Philippines' presidential spokesman, Edwin Lacierda, has announced that May 2 would be considered a regular working day despite the annual May 1, Labor Day, falling on a Sunday in 2011.
As per the statement released on spokesman Lacierda's Twitter account, "May 2 is a regular working day".
Last year (2010-04-28 and 2010-04-27), in a last-minute reversal, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had decided to declare Monday, May 3, 2010, as a special non-working public holiday in lieu of May 1st, Labor Day, which fell on a Saturday that year.
