Philippines Still Considering Black Saturday Public Holiday

Philippines deputy presidential spokesperson, Abigail Valte, has announced that a proposal had been sent to the Office of the Executive Secretary to declare Black Saturday, April 23, 2011, a national non-working public holiday in the Philippines.

Saturday, April 23, 2011, is sandwiched between 2 days that have been declared official public holidays, late last year (2010-12-20), and Sunday, the weekly day of rest.

Spokesperson Valte went on to say that the Palace would make an announcement about it early next week.
