The Consejería de Economía y Hacienda del Gobierno de Cantabria has published the list of 2012 public holidays (calendario laboral) in Spain's Autonomous Region of Cantabria.

The aforementioned "ORDEN HAC/21/2011, de 4 de agosto, de la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria, por la que se establece el Calendario de Fiestas Laborales para el año 2012 en el ámbito de la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria" was made as per the dispositions of the Real Decreto 2001/1983, as amended by the Real Decreto 1346/1989.

In 2012, contrary to what was the case for the last 2 years (2010-08-19 and 2009-08-14), the autonomy did not declare July 28 (Día de las Instituciones) as a public holiday, replacing it instead by a public holiday on July 25, 2012, (Santiago Apóstol).

In addition, the aforementioned ordinance, also declares September 15 (La Bien Aparecida) as a regional public holiday in 2012, due to its traditional nature ("por su carácter tradicional").
