The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Sudan has announced that the date of the upcoming Mulid (Prophet's Birthday) would be observed as a non-working public holiday throughout Sudan from Monday, August 29,2011, until Friday, September 2, 2011, inclusively.
In addition, the aforementioned announcement states that Sunday, August 28, 2011, will be an additional non-working public holiday for the public sector of Sudan.
The dates of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramnadan) are much longer than the usually announced list of official non-working national public holidays in the Republic of Sudan.
