The Secretariat General of the Sudanese Council of Ministers has announced that next Tuesday, February 15, 2011, would be the date of the upcoming Al-mawlid public holiday (the birthday of Prophet Mohamed).
Based on the recent approval by referendum of the secession of South Sudan from Sudan (2011-01-08), it is safe to assume that this public holiday will not be observed in South Sudan.
