Taiwan's Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) has announced that 2 additional non-working public holidays had been declared in January 2012 in Taiwan.
According to the aforementioned announcement, an additional (2011-09-29) non-working public holiday has been declared on Tuesday, January 2, 2012, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of China.
In addition, a public sector holiday and bank and financial sector holiday has been declared on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. As such, all public offices, financial institutions and stock markets will be closed for four consecutive days in Taiwan, from Saturday, December 31, 2011, until Tuesday, January 3, 2012, inclusively.
