Uzbekistan Declares August 31 End of Ramadan Public Holiday

The President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has signed a resolution "On Celebrating the Ramazan Hayit Holiday" which declares Wednesday, August 31, 2011, as the date of the non-working day off public holiday for the upcoming Ramazan Hayit (End of Ramadan) holiday.

Earlier this week (2011-08-25), President Karimov had signed another non-working public holiday resolution, the resolution "On Moving the Days Off in Connection with the Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence On September 1st" which declared Monday and Tuesday, August 29-30, 2011, as one-off non-working public holidays in Uzbekistan.
