Bahrain's Labour Ministry Under-Secretary, Sobah Al Dossary, has announced that his ministry had suggested including Arafat Day as a non-working public sector public holiday also for the private sector.
Despite many attempts, over the years (2010-01-12 and 2009-03-14), to align the public holidays observed by the private and public sectors of Bahrain, discrepancies remain, and in particular, the observance of a non-working public holiday on Arafat Day (the day before Eid al-Adha) is currently limited to the public sector of Bahrain.
